Connecting LinkedIn, and reconnecting every 60 days

Connect from Settings, Integrations. LinkedIn's permission lasts about 60 days, Allen reminds you a week before, and reconnecting takes thirty seconds.

Connecting the first time

Go to Settings, Integrations and press Connect LinkedIn. You are sent to LinkedIn's own sign-in page. Sign in there (Allen never sees what you type), review the permission LinkedIn describes, and press Allow. You land back in Allen, connected.

If LinkedIn asks you to confirm which account to use, pick your personal profile. Allen cannot post as a company page.

Why it expires

LinkedIn issues apps a permission that lasts about 60 days and does not let apps extend it quietly. That is LinkedIn's safety rule, and we think it is a good one. It means nothing can keep posting from your account forever without you re-approving it.

Reconnecting

A week before it expires, Allen emails you a reminder. When it does expire, Autopilot pauses and you get another email. Open Settings, Integrations, press Reconnect, approve on LinkedIn, and turn Autopilot back on. Thirty seconds.

Nothing else is lost

Your voice training, audiences, pipeline, history and credits are untouched by a reconnect. Only the posting permission is renewed.

If connecting fails

Make sure you are signed in to the right LinkedIn account in that browser, and that you pressed Allow rather than Cancel on LinkedIn's page. Pop-up blockers can swallow the LinkedIn window; try again in a normal tab. If it still fails, write to support@tryallen.ai with the time it happened.
