Is Allen safe for my LinkedIn account?
Allen acts through LinkedIn's official API with a permission you grant on LinkedIn's own screen. No password, no browser bot, a small daily number, and you see everything first.

This is the first question most people ask, and it deserves a straight answer.
How Allen touches LinkedIn
One way only: LinkedIn's official API. When you connect, you sign in on LinkedIn's own page and LinkedIn asks whether to let Allen post comments and posts as you. That permission is called w_member_social, and LinkedIn issues it to apps for exactly this purpose. Allen never sees your password, never runs a browser pretending to be you, and never reads anything through your account.
Why that matters
Most "LinkedIn automation" tools work by taking over your browser session or your login cookie and clicking around as if they were you. That is the pattern LinkedIn's Professional Community Policies describe as unauthorized automation, and it is what gets accounts restricted. Allen does not do that, which is why it also cannot send connection requests or messages: the API does not allow it, and we built Allen to live inside what the API allows.
How Allen behaves
- A small number of comments a day that you choose: 3, 5 or 10.
- Spaced five to eight minutes apart, never on a fixed timer.
- Each one written in your voice on a post from someone in your world.
- Shown to you before it posts, in the morning email and on the Autopilot page.
That is how an active person uses LinkedIn.
What we will not promise
LinkedIn writes and enforces its own rules and can change them whenever it likes. We will not tell you how LinkedIn will view any tool, ours included, and anyone who promises your account can never be restricted is gambling with your account instead of their own. What we can tell you, exactly, is what Allen does. Section 7 of our Terms says the same.
If you want zero unattended activity
Leave Autopilot off. Allen still finds the posts and writes the comments, and you press Post on each one from your Today page. Everything else works the same.
