The morning email: reading and acting on the day's plan

What the Autopilot email contains, what the Edit and Don't post links do, and why you sometimes get Nothing to post today.

1 min read

On every Autopilot day you get an email shortly after the morning search.

What is in it

Each comment Allen plans to post, the post it responds to with the author's name, and the time it is scheduled to go out. Under each one:

  • Edit this one: opens the comment on your Autopilot page with the edit box already open.
  • Don't post this one: removes it from today's batch. The link works until the comment's scheduled time.

You do not have to do anything

A comment you leave alone posts exactly as it appeared in the email, at its scheduled time. The email is there so you can catch anything you would not say, not to create homework.

"Nothing to post today"

Allen searched and found nothing that passed its Autopilot checks. Common causes: a quiet day in your industry, a very narrow audience, or a target country that filters most authors out. Run a search on Today with "talking about anything" to see what is out there, and consider widening your job titles.

"Autopilot needs an audience"

Autopilot has nothing to search. Add job titles to an audience under Prospects, or add people to your watchlist and tick it in Autopilot.

Other emails Autopilot sends

Autopilot is paused, Autopilot is back on, and Reconnect LinkedIn to keep Autopilot running. Each one says why and what to do.
