Getting the most out of Allen

Pairing Allen with your outreach: comment first, then connect

Two weeks of comments before a connection request or a cold email changes the reply rate. How to sequence Allen with the outreach you already do.

2 min read

Allen does not send connection requests or messages, and it is better for that. What it does is make the request or message you send land on someone who already knows your name.

The sequence

  1. Put the people you plan to reach out to on your watchlist, two weeks before you plan to reach out.
  2. Let Allen comment on their posts over those two weeks. Two or three thoughtful comments is plenty.
  3. Send the connection request or email. Mention the post you commented on. Allen's Pipeline drafts the note for you.
  4. When they reply, Allen tracks it, and the DM draft picks up the thread.

Why it works

A connection request from a stranger gets accepted maybe a quarter of the time. From a name that has appeared under three of your posts with something worth reading, it is a different number entirely, and the first message is not cold any more because there is a shared thread to refer to.

Using it with your CRM

Connect HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, GoHighLevel, Monday or TaxDome under Settings, Integrations. Push people from your Pipeline when they reply, and the comment and reply go along as a note, so whoever picks up the record sees the context.

Using it with outreach tools

If you run a tool that sends requests and messages at volume, keep its numbers low and let Allen do the warming. Allen uses LinkedIn's official API and does not add risk to your account; the volume tool is where the risk lives. Comments first, requests second, and fewer of both.

The Pipeline as your working list

Every reply lands on the board in Replied. Move people to DM sent when you message them, In conversation when they answer, Call booked when it is on the calendar. Set deal values and Analytics will tell you what your commenting is worth in pipeline, which is the number that matters.

Still stuck?

A person will answer.

Allen is built by a small team and we read every message. Business-day replies usually come within a few hours.
