Chrome extension

The extension button is missing or not working

Nine times out of ten it is a sign-in issue. Here is the checklist, in order.

1. Are you signed in to Allen?

Open a new tab to tryallen.ai. If you see the login page, sign in. The extension refuses to write anything unless it can confirm your login, and it says so in the popup when you click the toolbar icon.

2. Refresh LinkedIn

LinkedIn loads posts as you scroll and sometimes swaps the page out from under the extension. Reload the LinkedIn tab after installing or signing in.

3. Do you have credits?

Extension comments use credits. If your monthly pool is used up and you have no extra credits, the extension tells you. Buy a pack from your Account page or wait for your reset date.

4. Is your subscription active?

The extension works for accounts on a trial or a paid plan. If your trial ended or a payment failed, fix that on your Account page first.

5. Which browser?

Chrome, Brave and Edge are supported. Safari, Firefox and phones are not. The extension also does not run inside the Allen mobile app.

6. Still stuck

Remove the extension, reinstall it from the Chrome Web Store, sign in to tryallen.ai again, and reload LinkedIn. If that does not fix it, use the Feedback button in your dashboard (bottom right) with a screenshot and we will take a look.
