Finding the right posts

How Allen decides which posts to show you

Job titles decide whose posts Allen looks for. Keywords rank them. Country, industry and skip lists trim the rest. Here is how the pieces fit together.

Open Prospects in the sidebar and you will see everything Allen uses to pick posts. Each setting does one job.

Job titles find people

This is the most important setting. Allen searches LinkedIn for posts written by people who hold these titles. "VP of Sales", "Dental Practice Owner", "Head of Talent". If your job titles are wrong, everything downstream is wrong. If the list is empty, Allen searches everyone and you will see posts from people who are not your buyers.

Keywords rank posts

Words to Watch For (up to 10) tell Allen which topics matter to you. They do not change who Allen searches for; they help Allen rank what it finds and pick the posts worth a comment. You can also search a saved audience "talking about anything", which ignores keywords and simply finds your buyers' freshest posts.

Country filters where people are

Pick a target country and Allen checks each author's real location before showing you their post. Leave it on International to see posts from everywhere.

Industries help ranking

Their Industries nudges the ranking toward people in those fields. It does not exclude anyone on its own.

Skip lists remove the wrong people

  • People to Skip: job titles Allen should always ignore, like students, competitors, or vendors who sell to the same buyers.
  • Words to Skip: topics you never want to comment on.

The fit score

Every post gets a score for how well the author matches your audience. Today shows anything with a reasonable fit. Autopilot is stricter and only posts on strong matches, because nobody is reviewing those before they go out.

Where the posts come from

Allen never reads LinkedIn through your account. Public posts come from third-party data providers. The only thing Allen does with your LinkedIn connection is post the comments you approved.
