The History page: looking back at past runs

History keeps your last 30 runs. Open any one to see the posts Allen found that day and the comments it wrote, and post one you missed.

Today shows you the current day. History is where every earlier day goes. Find it in the sidebar under Commenting.

What the list shows

Each row is one run, which is one time Allen went looking for posts and wrote comments. The newest run is at the top and the list holds your last 30. On each row you see:

  • The date of the run.
  • How many posts Allen found.
  • How the run started. "manual" means you pressed the button. "scheduled" means Allen started it for you.
  • A status label on the right.

What the status labels mean

LabelWhat it means
scrapingAllen is still finding posts.
generatingAllen has the posts and is writing the comments.
pendingThe run is waiting to start.
failedThe run stopped before it finished.

A run that says scraping, generating or pending is still in progress. Give it a few minutes and refresh. If a run says failed, see the guide on comments not generating.

Opening a past run

Click any row to open that day. You get the same comment cards you see on Today, with the most liked posts first. The count under the date tells you how many posts that run handled.

What you can still do there

A past run is not locked. On any card you can:

  • Read the post and the comment Allen wrote.
  • Rewrite the comment if you want a different take.
  • Rate it with a thumbs up or down, which keeps teaching Allen your taste.
  • Post or copy the comment. A comment you post from History counts toward your daily goal and your streak, the same as one posted from Today.

When History is useful

  • You ran out of time yesterday and want to post the two or three best comments you skipped.
  • You want to check what Allen wrote on a certain day.
  • A run looked thin and you want to see how many posts it really found before you change your targeting.

Keep in mind that old posts go stale. A comment on a post from this week still lands. A comment on a post from three weeks ago mostly does not, so use History for recent days.
